About Me

I've spent my life solving mechanical problems. From restoring hot rods as a teenager to designing multi-ton mining equipment and working in NASCAR, every step of my career has been driven by a passion for building things that work.

I started restoring and flipping cars at 14, turning my fascination with mechanics into a way to earn money long before I became a working professional. That passion led me to study mechanical engineering, and after graduation, I began designing mining equipment while spending nights working for dirt track race teams.

That all eventually led to nearly 15 years in NASCAR, where I worked as a Crew Chief and Road Engineer. The fast-paced environment demanded practical thinking, attention to detail, and reliable engineering under pressure.

I eventually returned to the mining industry, designing equipment that now operates in mines across the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and beyond. Many of these machines weigh multiple tons and stand over 50 feet tall.

Today, I live on a small farm in eastern Kentucky, where I still spend plenty of time repairing equipment and finding practical solutions to everyday challenges. That's why I started 65 Designs—to help farmers, racers, manufacturers, and small businesses solve mechanical problems without unnecessary complexity.

Whether you need a custom attachment for heavy equipment, a one-off race car component, or engineering guidance for your next project, I bring decades of real-world experience and a straightforward approach to getting the job done right.
